Hanukkah makes history as the borough hosts its first public celebration of the Festival of Lights. The Chabad of Camden and Burlington Counties sponsors the Collingswood Town-Wide Chanukah Celebration, which includes a menorah lighting, music, dreidels and the traditional foods of the holiday — latkes, doughnuts and chocolate gelt. 6 to 6:30 p.m., corner of Collings and North Atlantic avenues; chabadcenter.org
Franklin Lakes’ Menorah Lighting Ceremony takes place Tuesday, December 4, 6 p.m. From Borough of Franklin Lakes: Come join us for our Menorah Lighting in front of Franklin Lakes Borough Hall on Tuesday, December 4 at 6:00 PM. The event is sponsored by Chabad of Northwest Bergen County. Hot refreshments, children’s entertainment, and arts and crafts will be presented at the Ambulance Corps building following the ceremony. The “14th Annual Sustainable Homes & Habitats Gingerbread Contest & Exhibit” is an opportunity to create a unique gingerbread house with natural accents and green building design features. Chabad invites the entire community to celebrate the Festival of Lights at a public Menorah kindling ceremony. The grand Chanukah celebration will take place on Wednesday, December 5 at 7:00 PM at Library Point in Haddonfield (60 N. Haddon Ave.) Public dignitaries and community leaders will attend the ceremony and will assist in kindling the giant Menorah. Following the kindling, there will be a program featuring music, delicious latkes and donuts, chocolate Chanukah Gelt for the children, dreidels and family fun. More information

The Artisan Holiday Show at Gallery on Division takes place Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through Dec. 23. in Somerville.
