Enjoy the Winter Walk Holiday Lights. Enter the park on Millburn Avenue by the Gazebo and follow the twinkling lights that will take you through a wonderland of handmade snowflakes, courtesy of local Boy Scout Troop 15. The trees along the path are wrapped in lights, the enormous polar bear is the perfect setting for family photos, and the bridge is adorned with hundreds of lights that reflect into the stream that runs along the Main Street section of the park. Continue your stroll along the Main Street entrance, over the bridge near the Bauer Center and then head for hot chocolate or dinner at your choice of numerous restaurants. The “Winter Walk” has been made possible through the generosity of local businesses, property owners, DMDA, Millburn Township and local residents under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce. Thousands of visitors will enjoy the park from November 24th until the lights dim on January 24th. For additional information kindly contact the Chamber of Commerce at 973-379-1198 or email to email@example.com
The Herb & Milly Iris Gallery at the South Orange Performing Arts Center hosts a new exhibition by Jenny Flexner Reinhardt December 10, 2018-February 22, 2019. A reception open to the public will take place December 13, 5:30-8:30 p.m. In The Price of Sugar, Reinhardt has woven the theme of the bright and seductive appeal of sugar and confectionary, along with its dark side; the addiction, the excess and the disease. Sugar is both sweet and dangerous. Reinhardt is inspired by the bravado of the middle-of-the-night street artist. While not a nocturnal painter herself, she is fascinated by the guerrilla-esque talents of the stencil maker, the spray-painter and the tagger. Her work is part graffiti, part abstraction with figurative form and vintage graphic design thrown in for good measure. It is a heady mixture that guarantees an interesting narrative and will keep you exploring the images for all their hidden elements of literature, history and cultural references that are subconscious elements of life. Jenny Flexner Reinhardt studied at University of Michigan before completing her MFA Cum Laude at the New York Academy of Art. She is an art educator as well as being a very accomplished artist of the highest […]
