The fruit bowls craze shows no signs of waning, especially in the Garden State. Maplewood just welcomed Bonji Bowls, the gourmet fruit bowls mini-chain with locations in Gillette and Summit, with a ribbon cutting and grand opening this past weekend.
The restaurant, located at 168 Maplewood Ave. in bustling Maplewood Village, is family-owned and operated. In addition to bowls, it features freshly-pressed juices, smoothies and protein shakes.
Menu choices include selections like the Grande Bowl (Banana, Strawberry, Nutella, Peanut Butter, Granola), the Hondo Bowl (Banana, Blueberries, Strawberries, Peanut Butter or Almond Butter, Granola), the Santa Fe Bowl (Chocolate Hazelnut Spread (Nutella), Chocolate Chips, Coconut Flakes, Banana, Granola), the Bonji Bowl (Banana, Strawberry, Blueberry, Nutella, Caramel, Granola) and more. For bowls, you get to choose your base: Acai, Pitaya, Banana Honey or Agave.
Bonji Bowls also will cater events including birthdays, business events, parties — even weddings — with pre-designed platters or a selection of the customer’s choice.
Also importantly, Bonji Bowls is community minded and frequently hosts local fundraisers. Host your fundraiser or event at your nearest Bonji Bowls location, and they will donate 20% of all proceeds back to your organization.
