Modern food trucks have come a long way from the days of cellophane-wrapped bagels and watery cups of joe. Today, New Jersey is home to scores of roving food trucks with sophisticated culinary offerings that span the globe.

You can find trucks that serve vegan cuisine, over-the-top-burgers and Australian food. One specializes in all things avocado, another offers cuisine inspired by the French Quarter of New Orleans. Cannoli, Puerto Rican food, Jamaican fare — even soft serve frozen bananas are some other tasty treats you can get truckside.

The trucks show up at special events, farmers markets, pop-ups, and festivals, and schedules are often posted on their websites. Food trucks also cater parties, barbecues, weddings, and pretty much whatever you’d like to host.

Here is New Jersey Next’s curated list of NJ food trucks. Happy eating!
