Eat Drink Jersey: Wine Expert Interviews Rising Star Chef Robbie Felice

If you’re craving authentic Italian cuisine but don’t feel like venturing all the way to Europe to sample some, you’re in luck. Chef Robbie Felice, a 2018 Garden State Culinary Award nominee in the Rising Star category, serves up mouthwatering homemade pasta, locally-sourced meats, and much more on his seasonally-rotating menu at Viaggio Ristorante in Wayne.

Hank Zona, founder of The Grapes Unwrapped, enjoyed his meal there so much that he felt compelled to meet the young chef and feature Felice in the web series, ‘Hank’s Wine Shorts,’ he creates with Michael Paras of Michael Paras Photography, LLC.

Zona explained how the interview came about. “I was in Naples and the Amalfi Coast for eight days and the day after we got back, didn’t want to cook so I suggested to my wife going to an Italian restaurant the day after eating amazing southern Italian food (nothing like Italian American food). We went to Viaggio and I messaged Robbie at 7:30 the next morning that his food was seamless with the meals I had had in Italy and the service was excellent. He wrote back to me five minutes later.”
