From Crossroads of the American Revolution:
Create a list of all the bad things you want to forget about 2019 on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 6-8pm and bring it to the Hogmanay bonfire in the Great Meadow behind the 1761 Brearley House on New Year’s Eve. This Scottish celebration has its roots in Pagan tradition. You’re invited to prepare a list in advance and bring it to the fire; the Lawrence Historical society will also have paper and pencils available if the spirit strikes you there.
Enjoy bagpipe music and tour the 1761 Brearley House while you’re there! Fire Master Tom Ledwith will light the fire promptly at 6:00 p.m., and it will be extinguished at 8:00 p.m. per state fire regulations.
