Fairy Tale Forest — Beloved New Jersey Theme Park — to Reopen This Fall

It looks like it’ll be a happy ending after all for Fairy Tale Forest. The theme park, which opened in 1957 but closed in 2003, is undergoing a renovation and is expected to welcome visitors once again this fall. Located in West Milford, the beloved destination celebrates European fairy tales such as Mother Goose, Cinderella, The Three Pigs, Peter Pumpkin, and Hansel & Gretel as well as American folk lore, just as its name implies.

As if seeing these classic stories come to life weren’t tempting enough, guests of all ages can enjoy a bit to eat at the park’s new eatery. Fables Restaurant at Fairy Tale Forest is slated to seat its first diners in fall as well–possibly even before the park’s grand re-opening. The aptly-named Fables will feature New American fare in a casual and fun environment. Chef Christine Nunn will also prepare a variety of “gourmet to go” dishes as well. And, of course, kids and grown-ups alike will have their choice of classic ice creams as well as healthy organic juices. Fables motto: “Fun, fabulous food is the moral of our story” truly says all you need to know about the restaurant.
