ALEX, INC. - "Wax Museum" (ABC/Tony Rivetti) ZACH BRAFF

One of New Jersey’s favorite sons — hey, he directed a hit indie film titled “Garden State”! — Zach Braff is back on television tonight, March 28, starring in the new sitcom “Alex, Inc.” on ABC.

The South Orange native and Columbia High School Class of 1993 graduate shot to fame in 2001 with his starring role at John “J.D.” Dorian on “Scrubs.” Braff also had an independent film hit in 2004 with “Garden State,” which he wrote and directed and which co-starred Natalie Portman.

Brach is returning to network television tonight with ABC’s “Alex, Inc.” in which he plays a podcast producer who leaves his radio show to start his own company. The show also focuses heavily on Alex’s family life. Tiya Sircar of “The Good Place” plays his wife, with newcomer Elisha Henig and Audyssie James as their children. Braff directed 4 of the 10 episodes produced so far.
