If you’re looking to pack a whole season’s worth of holiday spirit into one day, Downtown Somerville is the place to be. From caroling and carriage rides to an ugly sweater 5K and a handbell concert, there’s something for all ages can enjoy throughout Saturday, December 16.
Even the Grinch would have a hard time keeping up his bah-humbug attitude with so many festive events happening in one spot.
Take a look and plan to make a pit stop in Downtown Somerville, which may just be the closest you’ll get to the magic of the North Pole.
Caroling and carriage rides
If you haven’t had an opportunity to go dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh yet, here’s your chance. In addition to strolling carolers and musicians, who will perform from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., carriage rides from Giardina Walkway, sponsored by the Somerville Business and Professional Association, are available from noon to 3 p.m.
A donation of $5 per person is suggested while children under 10 years of age are free.
