Coming Soon to Paramus: iFly Indoor Skydiving Makes Your Dream of Flying a Reality

iFly offers a range of programs for kids and adults who want to get involved in the sport of indoor skydiving.

Calling all daredevils! iFly Indoor Skydiving will open its first New Jersey location in Paramus on Friday, April 13. Inside the 5,200-square-foot complex where the dream of floating through space becomes a reality, guests “ages 3 to 103” can enjoy the simulation of true freefall conditions inside a vertical wind tunnel.

At iFLY Indoor Skydiving, will open its first New Jersey location in
Paramus this spring.

Would-be skydivers who aren’t quite ready to make that leap of faith out of an airplane are able to take flight while still remaining a safe distance from the ground. So, just what does a visit to iFly entail? Joshua Braunstein, sales manager at iFLY Indoor Skydiving – Paramus, explains, “Upon arrival, we provide flyers with all the gear they will need to fly, including flight suits, goggles and helmets. Flyers will put their flight suit on over their attire and then take part in a 30-minute training and practice session with our certified instructors. After that session, each flyer will take two 60-second turns in the vertical wind tunnel with one of our certified instructors, flying in a stable, wall-to-wall cushion of air.

“From start to finish, the experience at iFLY takes approximately one hour and a half. It’s interesting to note that the average free-fall skydive is only about 30 seconds; at iFLY, the indoor skydiving experience lasts considerably longer – 60 seconds each flight. We have packages ranging from two to five flights per person, with the four-pack being a favorite.”

Though it sounds like all high-flying fun, there’s also plenty guests can learn at the same time.

“We look forward to welcoming the community to our iFLY facility in Paramus, and we will host a number of innovative programs aimed at inspiring and educating, including our STEM field trips and All Abilities events,” explained Braunstein. “As part of our commitment to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education, iFLY partners with local school systems to host field trips for elementary, middle and high school students. During each field trip, iFLY’s trained STEM educators guide students through an interactive presentation, wind tunnel demo and other grade-appropriate lab activities.”

Ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to sample this unique experience, iFly will host events that include those with special needs.

“Our All Abilities Nights are unique events that make the dream of flight a reality for those in the special needs community. This program has been custom designed for individuals with physical and cognitive challenges to create an environment of support and inclusion while focusing on making what seems impossible, possible,” Braunstein continued.

iFly will also welcome parties of all kinds, including birthday celebrations, corporate events, family outings and more.

“Our Paramus facility features both a party room and conference room that are ideal for a range of uses, and our staff will work closely with the party host to ensure each event is a success,” Braunstein noted. “For birthday celebrations, we can accommodate a variety of party sizes. Up to 12 flyers can participate in each training/flight session, and birthday parties often include two sessions that run back to back to accommodate up to 24 flyers. For corporate events, our conference room accommodates up to 25 people. Our iFLY facilities regularly host a number of corporate programs, such as team-building sessions, presentations and award ceremonies.”

Upon arrival, flyers are provided with all the gear they will need to fly, including flight suits, goggles and helmets.

“We also offer a range of programs for kids and adults who want to get involved in the sport of indoor skydiving – bodyflight. It is a growing sport worldwide. With our bodyflight training programs, flyers will progress in their flying skills and can participate in freestyle and formation flying competitions,” Braunstein continued.

Not quite ready for take off? The Paramus facility welcomes anyone interested in viewing the experience live to reserve a time at no charge and see the action in person.
