Interior Designer Vas Nair Celebrates Launch of New Business at Boulevard Five 72

Jersey City resident Vas Nair celebrated the launch of her new interior design business Sept. 20 at Kenilworth’s Boulevard Five 72.

After a successful career in the corporate world, Nair decided to shift gears and focus on her passion for design and decor. While traveling the world for both business and pleasure, the entrepreneur developed a true understanding of how a home fulfills the role of sanctuary at the end of a long day.

“I cherish coming home to a serene and comfortable space that is uniquely my own,” she says.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Nair enjoys bringing her global vision to her design business and sharing the colors and artistry she’s admired from Morocco to Manhattan and everywhere in between.

Nair explains that some clients have a clear idea of what they want, while others wish to be inspired.

“Maybe it’s contemporary, possibly country or chic,” she notes. “No matter the initial idea or vision – the focus is to listen, generate solutions, and personalize the space, so it’s as unique as their signature.”

Her design philosophy is simple and straightforward: “Listen, learn and adopt a solution to create that discerning signature space.”

Nair’s service include:

Design: Creating a healthier and more visually pleasing environment for the client, which may include space planning, conceptual development, construction, project and stakeholder management.

Decorate: Helping people decide on a style, look, and feel. “It’s important to take a tailored approach to decorating while adapting personal instincts to each project, so that the finished product enriches the lifestyle of the client,” she notes.

Nair is eager to help clients transform both their indoor and outdoor living spaces to maximize their use and enjoyment of their homes.

Working collaboratively with clients to transform their “house into a home,” is her primary goal, though Nair adds that she assists clients and real estate agents as well to provide staging that sells properties quickly and for more money.

“Through proper staging, buyers are better able to appreciate the flow of the space and the home,” says Nair. “Sometimes it’s not a matter of adding things but removing things that allows buyers to visualize themselves living there. In many cases you don’t need to spend a lot of money. A fresh coat of paint and new light fixtures can do wonders.”

Nair also maintains a blog where she shares decorating ideas that intrigue and inspire her clients and readers.
