Morristown, NJ has been the scene of a lot of history in New Jersey and looks to be at the center of politics and history again with the scheduled Women’s March on January 20, 2018,
“Welcome to the Women’s March on New Jersey 2018, hosted by Action Together New Jersey, BlueWaveNJ, League of Women Voters of the Morristown Area, Mobilizing Montclair, New Jersey Citizen Action, New Jersey Working Families Alliance, and NJ 11th for Change,” read a post on Medium announcing the march several days ago.
Since then, political activists around New Jersey have been organizing local contingents to carpool, bus or take trains to the event, which is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We are excited to celebrate the achievements of women since last year’s incredible demonstration of resistance through sister marches across the country,” read the announcement. “Since then, we ran for office, we organized, we told our stories, we listened, and we voted. We are now ready to mobilize women across New Jersey to bring our Power to the Polls this November, and continue our march towards equity and justice.”
The march will begin at Morristown Town Hall, 200 South Street and then proceed through the streets of Morristown, ending at the Morristown Green with a program of speakers.
