The Morris County First Night’s decades-old extravaganza features more than 200 artists and 80 performers at 24 venues. As they say on their website, “The town becomes a stage.” The performances selected to entertain people of all ages include children’s entertainment, dance, music, world culture, theater, and visual arts. Fireworks shows are scheduled for 9:15 p.m. and midnight. The event begins at 4:45 p.m. Parking and shuttle buses are free. Tickets are $25 each. The town of Haddonfield will celebrate its 20th anniversary First Night New Year’s Eve with 15 venues hosting parties in stunning and historical buildings and churches. Experience magic, music, comedy, dance, theater, and more. The Central/Middle School Gym will have special activities and entertainment for children 9 and under from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Ocean City offers a First Night celebration with rides at Gillian’s Wonderland Pier, fireworks, and over 60 entertainment programs. Here are some of the fun activities: magicians, jugglers, puppeteers, Broadway shows, ice skating, games, music, a mentalist, comedy, dancing, telescopes, inflatables, music, jugglers, and skateboarding at the skateboard park. Battleship NJ Museum & Memorial New Year’s Celebration in Camden

Camden also has a celebration in the Battleship NJ Museum & Memorial. Military buffs and those looking for a unique experience will enjoy dinner and breakfast served at the chow line, a guided tour of the Battleship, a ride in the Flight Simulator, and trying out a bunk bed where the crew of the USS New Jersey slept. You can also pull the trigger of an historic 5-inch gun. The Battleship is open from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm. The first fireworks show is at 6:00 p.m. and boasts a spectacular view of the Delaware River. The second session is 10:00 p.m. to midnight. The second fireworks show is at midnight.
