Memorial Day – Monday, May 28 – is a day to remember and honor those who served our country. To commemorate this special occasion, towns throughout the Garden State are holding parades and ceremonies to pay tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Fifth Avenue Gazebo (weather permitting) on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 10:00 am. In the event of inclement weather the ceremony will be moved to the Bradley Beach Fire House, 815 Rear Main Street. Don’t miss events all weekend long.

Line up begins at the Community Center, 220Walnut Ave in Cranford at 8:30 a.m. and marching commences at 9:00 a.m. ending with a traditional memorial ceremony at Memorial Park on Springfield Avenue between RiversideDrive and Central Avenue at 10:00 a.m.
This year’s Memorial Day Parade will start at with a ceremonial service at the Oval to commemorate those who have died defending the United States. At 10 am after the ceremony, the parade will start at Memorial Oval and proceed down Livingston Ave. until it ends at Congressional Parkway.
Steps off at 9 a.m. sharp from West Parker Street Route: West Parker to Maplewood Ave. to Baker St. to Valley St. Ceremony immediately following the parade at Town Hall Plaza Members of the Maplewood VFW Post 10120 will lead the parade, joined by the Maplewood Township Committee and Columbia High School Marching Band, along with civic groups, schools, neighborhood associations and others.
Immediately following the parade is the 20th Annual Memorial Day Duck Race, sponsored by the South Mountain YMCA, at Memorial Park (Oakview Rd). Join hundreds of locals to cheer your ducks to victory! Fun for the whole family, all proceeds go to local charities.
Montclair Township will hold its annual Memorial Day tribute on Monday, May 28, at 10:00 a.m. in Edgemont Park. Mayor Robert Jackson will be Master of Ceremonies and Township Historian Michael Farrelly will be this year’s speaker. Mr. Farrelly will reflect on Montclair’s 150-year history, as the Township celebrates its sesquicentennial.
Morris Plains Memorial Day parade will kick off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 near the intersection of Glenbrook Road and Mountain Way.

The Verona Memorial Day parade will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018 beginning at 10:00 A.M. The parade will begin at Everett Field on Bloomfield Avenue and conclude at the Civic Center.
