Planning a Valentine’s Day Marriage Proposal? Hold Your Horses!

Marriage Proposal at Lord Stirling Stable

Planning a creative, romantic marriage proposal has become pretty much par for the course (horse?) these days. For those lovebirds thinking of popping the question on Valentine’s Day but still stumped about how to make it memorable — Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge has it in the (feed)bag.

The Somerset County spot is offering a Marriage Proposal Package that will give you the chance to REALLY be a knight (or dame?) in shining armor — on horseback, no less.

Marriage Proposal at Lord Stirling Stable

Here’s the details:

Stable staff will provide a leisurely horseback ride through Lord Stirling Park woods and meadows on quiet, steady trail horses. Proposal options include “Will you marry me?” messages along the trail; a place to surprise her with that special question upon return to the courtyard; or your own ideas for staff to implement.  If you want family and friends to be in on the excitement, staff can take up to 30 people on a hayride to the campfire area/outdoor gathering space.

Customers can opt for a one-hour guided trail ride for $100 or half-hour for $50. The fee includes pre-planning with the stable’s coordinator and an hour of pre- or post-ride preparation — such as the scattering of flower petals, signage, etc.

Despite the stable’s use of the female pronoun, we think it would be a cool idea for people of any gender to propose to their beloved in such a thoughtful and picturesque fashion.

Just make sure your soon-to-be betrothed isn’t allergic to horses.
