Polar Bear Plunge, Anyone? Here’s Where You Can Take Your (Rescheduled) Icy Dive in Jersey

It’s tough being a polar bear in 2018.

After frigid temperatures on New Year’s Day, multiple Polar Bear Plunge events were rescheduled throughout the Garden State. Then came the bomb cyclone which brought thermometers down to strikingly low readings for the second weekend in a row. But with temperatures approaching the mid-50s in certain parts of New Jersey by next weekend, some will be packing their bathing suits and hitting the beach!

Now for the record, the Sons of Ireland annual Polar Bear Plunge in Asbury Park took place during the bracing cold of New Year’s Day. “We have plunged on past New Years with colder weather and snow on the beach,” board member Sean Clifford said.

The Atlantic City Polar Bear Plunge also took place on January 1.
