Americana powerhouse vocal trio Red Molly, known for their gorgeous harmonies, crisp musicianship, infectious songwriting and warm and engaging presence will perform at SOPAC with special guest Ellis Paul on Friday, April 6 at 8PM. This very popular group has inspired devoted fans to call themselves “Redheads.” They will perform original works composed by each of the group members, as well as covers of other songwriters including Hank Williams, Gillian Welch, Richard Thompson, Mark Erelli, and Ryan Adams.
Laurie MacAllister (Bass), Abbie Gardner (Dobro), and Molly Venter (Guitar) weave together the threads of American music – from Folk roots to Bluegrass, from heartbreaking ballads to barn-burning honky tonk – as effortlessly as they blend their voices into soaring, crystalline three-part harmonies. Joining Red Molly at SOPAC is singer-songwriter Ellis Paul, whose music has been praised by the New York Times and featured in several blockbuster films like “Hall Pass” (Staring Owen Wilson and Alyssa Milano) and “Me, Myself & Irene” (starring Jim Carrey and Renèe Zellweger).
