The tony town of Madison, NJ just got a dose of “Jersey Shore” realness, with the opening of a clothing boutique owned by Nicole Polizzi LaValle — better known to most of the world as “Snooki.”
“Grand Opening day was amazing!” Polizzi posted on her Instagram feed. The store is located at 61 Main Street, next door to Ann’s Nails and Gerlach’s Jewelers.
Polizzi, 31, who lives in Florham Park with her husband and two children (she recently announced she’s expecting a third child), starred in the infamous reality show “Jersey Shore,” which ran from 2009-2012 and highlighted the often booze-soaked social and personal lives of a group of young Italian-Americans sharing a house in Seaside Heights, NJ. This year, most of the cast reunited for the tamer “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” now in its second season.
Snooki and Madison might not seem a natural fit, and in fact some residents were up in arms when the news first broke, tsking about Snooki’s sketchy reputation.
“Unbelievable… who allowed this to happen!! There goes the neighborhood,” one person posted on the Facebook group “You Know You’re From Madison If…”
