Strike Up the Band! Check Out Free Summer Concert Series Across NJ




Enjoying an outdoor concert is one of the highlights of summer and if you can listen without paying a fortune per ticket, even better! Fortunately, free concert series are taking place on boardwalks, in parks, and on bandstands throughout the Garden State this summer. From Broadway to blues and everything in between, you’ll find music filling the area every night of the week.

Check out some of the offerings and add a cool new soundtrack to your summer nights:

Summit:

Presented by Investors Bank, the Hot Summer Nights Concert Series has become a favorite summertime tradition in the City of Summit.

Every Tuesday night, thousands gather on the Village Green to enjoy some of the best bands of the East Coast as well as food trucks and free ice cream, courtesy of Investors Bank. All Concerts begin at 7:00 PM

Township of Union’s 2018 Summer Concert Series: Thursdays 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Rabkin Park

Garden State Radio – July 12th
Garden State Radio creates the ultimate audio/visual experience. Their signature performances will have everyone at Rabkin Park not only hearing the music, but seeing and feeling it as well. Bringing to life the biggest multi- genre anthems of the 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s, and today spanning four decades of music.

Eaglemania – July 19th

Eaglemania has dedicated themselves to faithfully reproducing the music of The Eagles. Since their inception, EagleMania has been thrilling audiences all over the country with their stunning five part harmony and their uncanny ability to emulate the unmistakable sound of The Eagles.

Total Soul – July 26th

This R&B, Soul and Classic Disco style group, performs the covers of great artists from the 60’s through today. Their vocals and slick dance moves and smooth harmonies will have you singing and dancing along.

Westfield:

Live Jazz Every Tuesday Night in July & August, 7pm-9pm

Residents, visitors, shoppers and diners are invited to enjoy the free music at the 22nd Annual Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival while strolling, dining and relaxing at the various outdoor venues around town featuring live musicians.

Live at the Pier Summer Concert Series Starts July 9 every Monday through Aug. 13. Trent Armand Kendall + Brass Illusion are reinventing the nightlife experience with their high voltage, “Vegas throwback” concerts at Pier Village.

The Tower of Power-esque horn stylings of one of the best ensembles in the tri-state, Brass ILLUSION, under the music direction of bandleader Marty Ash, brings audiences to a fever pitch as they stomp their feet, sweat and lose their collective minds to the songs of: Sam & Dave, Blood, Sweat & Tears, George Benson, Ben E. King, The Temptations, Rufus & Chaka, Luther Vandross, Curtis Mayfield, The O’Jays, U2, B.B. King, Billy Preston, Ceelo Green, Maroon 5, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, and more!

New Providence Summer Concert Series

New Providence Business is proud to present four summer concerts offering music and entertainment for the whole family.  The free concerts start at 7 PM and will feature a face painter and magician to entertain the kids, along with free hot dogs and ice cream for all to enjoy.

The 2018 concert dates are:

Thurs., July 26 – The Day Trippers

Thurs., August 2 – 1910 Fruitgum Company

Tues., August 7 (National Night Out – 6 PM) – Elefante Family Band

The last concertcoincides with National Night Out and and includes additional activities presented by the New Providence Police, Fire, EMS, and Recreation Departments (starting at 6 PM)

The first three concerts will be held on Thursday evenings and the fourth concert on Tuesday evening in Centennial Park starting at 7 PM, rain or shine. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of the evening. If rain prevents an outside performance, it will be held inside in the municipal gym.

Enjoy free musical performances under the stars, Tuesdays and Thursdays, throughout the summer at the Kasschau Memorial Shell at Veteran’s Field (located behind the Village Hall, 131 N. Maple Avenue).  Programs include Broadway tunes, Calypso, Reggae, Jazz, Best of Rock and Soul, Country Western, Ultimate Billy Joel Tribute Band and so much more.  No fee to attend.
