Summit Farmers Market Begins April 22, Featuring 4 New Vendors

Summit Downtown is announcing that Summit Summer Farmers Market 2018 season will begin on April 22! The Summer Farmers Market will be open from 8am to 1pm every Sunday, April 22 through November 18, in Park & Shop Lot #2, at the corner of DeForest Avenue and Maple Street.

Many of last year’s vendors will be returning to the market. A full list of vendors can be found at Summit Downtown is excited to announce the addition of four new vendors to the market: Baker’s Bounty, Kimchi Culture, Mama Emma’s and Sweet Carol’s.

Baker’s Bounty will be selling all types of breads: challah, maple oat, raisin, olive, sour dough, roasted garlic, multi-grain, peasant, nut & raisin, pumpernickel, rye, onion, spinach, and other savory items. You can also visit them inside The Wine List located at 417 Springfield Avenue in Summit. Kimchi Culture will also be joining the market with their Korean specialties including whole cabbage kimchi, vegan cabbage kimchi, vegan kimchi, scallion pancakes, bulgogi, kalbi, braised short ribs, braised pork belly and more. Mama Emma’s is the first plantain-based baked goods manufacturer in the country. Because of her dietary restriction, Emma created her products with only five wholesome ingredients including local pasture-raised eggs. The offerings include frozen packaged plantain waffles, Mama Emma’s Better Batter, grain-free donuts, waffle bites with vegan coconut gelato and Green Youth Juice. Coming from Mahwah, New Jersey, Sweet Carol’s will be bringing a wide variety of low- and no-sugar jams ranging from amaretto peach and banana bread to four berry and lemon curd. They will also offer seasonal products such as marmalades.

Widely regarded as one of New Jersey’s best farmers markets, this will be the market’s 23rd year of providing fresh, locally-sourced food and produce to the greater Summit community. The G.I.F.T. (Give It Fresh Today) program will celebrate its 7th season at the market. For more information or to volunteer at the G.I.F.T. booth, click here.
