
Vegan and vegetarian alert!
There’s a new option in New Jersey for vegans, vegetarians and those seeking kosher baked goods. Cedar Ridge Café & Bakery on Ridgewood Road in Maplewood has re-opened after a brief hiatus.
“Our new hours are Tuesday-Saturday 8am to 4pm, Sunday 9am to 2pm! The kitchen will be open all day, no more closing at 3pm! WE ARE OFFICIALLY A VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT with a TON OF VEGAN options,” the Café posted on social media. “We will be certified kosher by the end of September!”

The beloved eatery caused some howls from its carnivorous patrons when it announced the change earlier this summer. But after re-opening as non-meat on September 5, owner Paul Holtzman said that the response has been tremendous — with local customers giving full support and new customers coming in from Summit and points further.
