8 New Year’s Day Road Races in New Jersey — From the Taproom to the Boardwalk

Getting up bright and not-so-early on January 1 to run a road race might not sound like a traditional New Year’s celebration, but it’s one that several clubs and towns in New Jersey are embracing. While many races tout the health benefits of a New Year’s Day road race, some others acknowledge that runners might be a little worse for wear and could use a little “hair of the dog” afterward.

Here are several New Year’s Day 5Ks to get your 2018 off on the right foot. If we missed your New Year’s Day race, email us at editor@newjerseynext.com.

Central Jersey Road Runners Club 36th Annual Hangover 5K — Westfield
