Since it opened its doors in August. Liv Breads in Millburn has been cranking out fresh, delicious smelling baked goods that are flying off the racks.
Liv Breads focuses on breads — both seeded and plain baguettes, sourdough loaves and country style breads — made in a state of the art bread oven with cookware imported from France. But owners Elana and Yaniv Livneh pretty much can supply you with anything that’s baked — from danishes to croissants, breakfast brioche sandwiches, lunchtime quiches, foccacia and more. (They also have salad!)
The shop itself is a welcoming, open and bright environment with a modern industrial flare,Counter Culture Coffee drinks make it a great spot to stop and dine as well as shop and dash.
Everything they sell is fresh daily. “Unlike most other bakeries, we don’t have a night baker,” said Elana Livneh. “All our breads are made here starting at 4:30 a.m.” And they bake all day, so the loaf you buy at 4 p.m. is likely to be warm, instead of 12 hours old. At the end of each day, they donate un-purchased bread.
The majority of the breads are made using traditional European techniques, but they specialize in Israeli-style bread, which has a slightly more hydrated dough. They make challah on Fridays, and have rugelach and babka daily. Liv Breads is Kosher certified.
