From SOMa Sport and Social and Pollock Properties Group:
Join Hamilton Chicago’s Miguel Cervantes at the first-ever Family Fun Picnic and Home Run Derby on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at DeHart Park in Maplewood, NJ.
SOMa Sport and Social, the group behind the popular SOMa Co-ed Softball League, is partnering with Vanessa Pollock’s Care Serve Give, E Quality Systems, and Blink Fitness to host the first-ever Strikeout Epilepsy, a Home Run Derby fundraiser and picnic that promises fun for the whole family this Labor Day.
Miguel Cervantes, a co-founder of SOMa’s Coed Softball League, will take a break from his leading role in the Chicago production of Hamilton to help raise funds for Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy, or CURE. It’s been a personal cause for Miguel and his wife Kelly since their daughter was diagnosed with a type of epilepsy known as infantile spasms.
The inaugural event, at Maplewood’s family friendly DeHart Park ball field, will offer:
- Women’s and Men’s Home Run Derby (Pre-registration required) with a grand prize of one-year membership to Blink Fitness
- Food from Benji’s Taqueria of West Orange
- Ice Cream Truck
- DJ Matty Stuart of MD Music and Entertainment
- Inflatables for the kids
- Dunk Tank
- And More
