A treasured New Jersey holiday tradition is returning to the State Theatre New Jersey on Saturday, December 9, when singer/songwriter/musician Glen Burtnik and friends will hit the stage of their Glen Burtnik XMAS.

The list of Glen’s friends is rather impressive. In addition to Max Weinberg, Patty Smyth, and Marshall Crenshaw, expect about 40 musicians who will be on hand to rock n’ roll the holiday. It’s a family reunion of sorts, and New Jersey music fans refer to the talent as simply “Glen.”

And in addition to the music, the event will be raising funds for some very good causes. One dollar from every ticket sold will go to both the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Elijah’s Promise.

Born in 1955, Burtnik grew up in Somerset, New Jersey and would later write number one hits songs for Randy Travis, Patty Smyth, and Don Henley. He has appeared on albums by Meat Loaf, Styx, and Celine Dion and has shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.

Burtnik is well-known for his performance of Beatles music. After portraying the role of Paul McCartney in the Broadway hit show “Beatlemania,” he went on to spend two years with “RAIN: The Ultimate Beatles Experience.” He appears annually at the legendary “Fest For Beatles Fans” conventions and occasionally with “The Fab Faux.” Burtnik has been a member of prominent classic rock bands Styx and Electric Light Orchestra.

State Theatre New Jersey is located at 15 Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Visit their website for tickets and further information.
