From Gail Schoenberg PR:
A bevy of new eateries is slated to open this fall throughout New Jersey:
Kai Yang 345 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair
A casual, fun Thai concept from Restaurateur/Chef/Owner Sheree Sarabhaya (Spice II, Boon Thai Kitchen), who grew up in Bangkok, with its Thai market street food such as kai yang–meaning “grilled chicken.” Kai Yang’s organic chickens will be rotisserie grilled and accompanied by traditional papaya salad, sticky rice sides and dipping sauces. The space will evoke the vibrant colors and feel of a Thai street market.
The Ashford, 145 Newark Avenue, Jersey City
From the owners of NYC’s Chinese Tuxedo and The Grayson, with a Jose Garces alum in the kitchen and a Macao Trading Co. vet behind the bar, this 17,000 square-foot multi-level dining destination on Jersey City’s downtown “restaurant row” will offer New American food & craft cocktails. Rooftop with open-air kitchen and raw bar. Multiple private event spaces.
Six26, 128 Christopher Columbus Dr., Jersey City
Within the same building, on the opposite block, The Ashford’s team are thrilled to present a new tri-state LGBTQ destination. Cocktail-focused, with a menu of light bites, and plenty of entertainment. A lounge with a downtown vibe; a rooftop for day/night chilling.
Opening late September.
House of Que, 500 Port Imperial Boulevard, Weehawken
Austin-style BBQ by Chef/Pitmaster Michael Rodriguez in the kitchen (formerly of famed Austin’s Salt Lick BBQ). On the Weehawken waterfront in the luxurious new Marriot, this is the 2nd location of the popular Hoboken spot. Live entertainment, music, sports, and even to-go & kiosk ordering available on the Ferry to & from NYC.
Somos, 185 River Rd., North Arlington
Highly regarded Chef/Owner Juan Placencia (Costanera in Montclair, and a Gotham Bar & Grill, Del Posto and Gramercy Tavern alum) and Beverage Director Carlos Ruiz (Crystal Springs and Agricola) will head a vibrant Latin restaurant and bar that embraces and honors all of the flavors of Latin America and Spain. Vibrant nightlife. Private events.
The Edge, 109 North County Line Road, Jackson
A seven-nights-a-week dining destination close to Shore points. A modern American menu highlighting local seafood. Specialty bar menu, craft cocktails, extensive wine list and outdoor dining.
Ani Ramen, 427 Springfield Avenue, Summit
The third location of the acclaimed New Jersey ramen house and bar, with an extensive list of Japanese whiskies and a late night menu. Opening November, with a fourth, Maplewood spot, following in 2019.
