From Morristown Partnership: The place to celebrate the holidays from Thanksgiving up until Christmas; this month-long family event kicks off on the Sunday after Thanksgiving with Santa’s rooftop arrival and welcome ceremony. Family activities and entertainment on the historic Morristown Green, add to the dazzling “Lighting of the Green” ceremony with brilliant lights and wreaths adorning streetlights town-wide – a 100+ year tradition! Each weekend throughout December thousands of attendees from all over Northern New Jersey visit and enjoy Santa visits and photos, holiday crafts, miniature train rides around the Green, gingerbread house & ornament making, music by local choirs and entertainers, ice sculpting demonstrations and free treats! From the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey: The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (STNJ) concludes its 57th season with Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, adapted for the stage by Neil Bartlett and directed by longtime company member Brian B. Crowe. Tickets for A Christmas Carol begin at just $39 for preview performances and $59 for regular performances. The Theatre is proud to continue its 30 UNDER 30 program which provides patrons age 30 and under with tickets for only $30 with a valid ID. More information.

Marvel at the creativity and skill displayed at this festive and charming exhibit featuring 150+ edible masterpieces crafted by local schools, scout troops, and families. With past creations from Hogwarts, to enchanted gardens, pirate ships, and Santa’s Workshop, this is a must see for all ages. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite! From Essex County Executive DiVincenzo: Essex County Executive DiVincenzo invites the public to spend part of their holiday season at the Annual Essex County Holiday Lights Spectacular at Essex County Turtle Back Zoo. Free admission is being offered at The Holiday Lights Spectacular, which will be held on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, November 22, 23 & 24 and Nov. 29, 30 & Dec. 1, and daily from Friday, December 6 to Tuesday, December 31. From Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr.: Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites the public to take a Holiday Candlelight Tour of Essex County Kip’s Castle to view the stained glass Tiffany windows and learn the history of this hidden gem. Admission is $10 and includes coffee, hot chocolate and cookies. Registration is required and can be done online here. Space is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. Visitors should meet at the front door of the Castle building for the beginning of the tour. Please note that not all areas of the tour are handicapped accessible. More information.
