From American Theater Group: American Theater Group, which most recently brought acclaimed productions of “The Bridges of Madison County” and “Tell Them Im Still Young,” starring Andre Braugher and Michelle Pawk, to New Jersey, is thrilled to present this New Jersey premiere which tells the story of 15-year-old Emmett Till, whose murder helped to ignite the civil rights movement. Written by Leo Schwartz and DC Cathro, and directed by Cezar Williams with choreography by Tiffany Rea-Fisher, this stirring and powerful production will be staged at South Orange’s historic St. Andrew’s Church.   Kick off the Achieve Foundation’s annual Nights of 100 Dinners fundraiser with a Mardi Gras party!  Everyone in the community is invited to an adults-only event to celebrate and support SOMSD students and teachers. From the Seaside Heights Business Improvement District: The Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade step off is at 12 Noon down the Boulevard Saturday March 7, 2020. As in the past, we anticipate a wonderful crowd as thousands of people come out to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and enjoy a great afternoon in Ocean County.  ​We are privileged to announce this year’s Parade Grand Marshal Damien Murry. When we finish the parade, stay and enjoy “massed” band. This is where all of the pipe bands gather and salute our American Flag. Join us after the parade at the Hershey Hotel. We will have live Irish music featuring Ballyhaunis.  More information.

From the Columbia Cougars: Kick off spring with the third Annual Columbia Cougars – Saint Patrick’s Day 5K Road Race! When: Saturday, March 14th – 9am Where: Dunnell Road in Maplewood, NJ Pre-register (by Tues, 3/10) for early bird price of $25 Day of/walk-up registration will be available onsite for $30/registrant starting at 7am. All packets and bibs can be picked up the day of the race starting at 7am. This race will be held Rain or Shine, and is a no-alcohol event. More information.
